Bill is the retired chairman and chief executive officer of Alaska Air Group, the parent company of Alaska Airlines and its sister carrier, Horizon Air. Ayer, 61, served as chief executive officer of Alaska Air Group and its subsidiaries through 2012, and as chairman through 2013. Among other boards, Bill serves on the University of Washington Board of Regents and the University of Washington Foundation. He is a UW graduate and makes his home in Bellevue.
